How do updates work?
The desktop apps fetch new versions in the background and switch over the next time you open them. The browser version is always the latest. On Android, install the new APK over the old one.
Can Android update automatically?
Yes, with Obtainium. Add this site's front page as the source and it finds new APKs.
Will I get notifications?
On Android, the app checks for replies, mentions, quotes and follows about every 15 minutes, even when it's closed (Android may check less often to save battery). The browser version can notify you about Mastodon while the page is closed, and about Bluesky only while it's open.
Which version is this?
